Lindex fashion’s new face - Penelope Cruz

Penélope Cruz the gorgeous and multitalented actress will be modeling Lindex fashion during the spring season. We can chase her for three campaigns, from a party on the red carpet to relaxing in her favorite clothes and then in the last campaign wearing this summer’s ‘it pieces’ and from 24 April, the garments are available to buy in store and online.

“With her stylish elegance, Penélope Cruz adds a wonderful womanly and feminine feel to the campaign. The combination of her lively personality and a glamorous film-star life together with a sense of humour will also make the campaigns fun and exciting,” says Johan Hallin, Director of Concept & Marketing at Lindex.

For Lindex, she models in three spring campaigns. The campaigns are linked by a story in which we follow Penelope for a weekend. Friday night is the perfect party night with glamour, a red carpet and photographers. On the Saturday, we see Penélope relaxing in her home environment, dressed in her favourite clothes. In the last campaign we accompany Penélope, wearing this summer’s ‘it pieces’, to a special Sunday brunch at a Mediterranean villa.

“I’ve had lots of fun being a model for a large international fashion company like Lindex. I like the clothes; they really suit my style,” says Penélope Cruz.

“Penélope Cruz is a dream model for the spring. She presents the fashion of the different collections fantastically. She’s positive, self-confident, warm and full of energy, personifying the Lindex brand in an excellent way,” adds Johan Hallin
“The fact that she’s famous all over the world is obviously a benefit since we operate on a global market,” says Johan Hallin.

Lindex’s most recent major international design partnership with the Missoni fashion house fascinated a lot of attention worldwide. “It’s part of our tactics to have a broad marketing approach, with a personal tonality in our campaigns and exciting design collaborations. It is of course extra pleasant when our campaigns create a buzz online and the collections are sold out at www.lindex.com,” says Johan Hallin. The collections will be available in all Lindex stores from 24 April.

Kate Hudson: Fashion needn't be expensive

Kate Hudson explained that while "fashion is art", it needn't be pricey.

The actress admitted that many of the red carpet dresses stars sport are freebies from designers.
The 33-year-old spokesperson for Ann Taylor chose to work with the high street clothing line as she believes looking stylish needn't be expensive.

“When you see all those celebrities, they don’t really own those clothes,’’ Kate confided to WWD. “Fashion is art, and sometimes art is really expensive and other times it’s very affordable. Everyone has the opportunity to say what they want with their own fashion statement. When you wrap a scarf around your head or your arm, you are making your own fashion statement. Working with Ann Taylor and with Kay Krill, that’s what the relationship is about. You want people to be able to express themselves and afford it.”

It was announced in January this year that Kate would be broadening her role with Ann Taylor.
The blonde first appeared in the clothing brand's spring 2012 campaign, and it was reported that for 2013, she would be guest designing a summer capsule collection with the label's creative director Lisa Axelson.Kate admitted she didn't actually have much input into designing the variety, which will be launched in May. The star has spoken before about comfort being her priority when it comes to her wardrobe. She named her "best girlfriend" designer Stella McCartney as her favorite designer but says she admires all high end fashion creations.

I love everything from accessories to clothes to shoes to purses, but for me, hands down, comfort is number one,” Kate gushed. "I love all these designers. I’m excited about the new head designer at Emanuel Ungaro. I want to see what he’s going to bring to the table. But for me, style, colour, shape, that’s all-important. I can’t wear anything if it’s not comfortable. I do have that mom thing and I still like to look fashionable even when I’m running after my 20-month-old. Ann Taylor has that in spades, which is every time I put anything on, whether it be a pencil skirt to a tight pant, it’s always comfortable, whether it be fabric choice or the way it’s tailored.’’

Black or colored wefts also add color strength.

"Even though summer is coming, we still have jeans and denim mini skirts. Denim carries through the year."
Base fabrics are tightly constructed and dense, used in both rigid menswear denims and lighter-weight stretch denims with sheen and surface lusture for the ladies wear. With the side of Bright notes, faded deep blue sailors blue also in the trend show case. An Indigo with some black and then heavy wash work with an oriental work wear and nautical heritage.

And denim with much available varieties Fluoro colored Denim, Pale Vintage, colored and fancy Back, Textured Denim gives a wide selection options and try that suits.

Denims in Lighter weight:

Lightweights continue strongly, popular for their fashion elasticity and styling latent, particularly for the women’s market. And especially for Spring Summer it is coming stronger.

Denim quotes:

"Denim has always been an everyday symbol for style."

"Denim is huge for fall, but it's always huge and it always will be. It's universally accepted by kids, teenagers, adults."
"Denim is really expanding. It's not just a weekend basic, it's a fashion must."

Denim History:

Americans started falling in love with denim as a working material in the 18th century. It is recorded that George Washington toured a production line of denim in Massachusetts in 1798. Slaves and blue color laborers wore denim because of its durability and strength. During the 19th century, the miners of the California gold rush needed strong clothing to handle the harsh work environment so Levi--he was called Loeb at birth--Strauss developed a pair of "jeans" that started a huge fashion craze in America.

During the same time, the railroad workers wore a similar fabric called hickory cloth that was denim with white and black contrasting threads in the denim pattern. This cloth was known to be tough as hickory wood so these workers were called "hicks."

As like this year, denim will get its own attention coming year (2013) also. Let’s wait and see how it impacts on fashion lovers. And for one thing sure, colored denims will strikes strong.
